It's a popular idea-only the strong survive. But in the story of Ruth, we see a quite different survival-not of the fittest, but of the most faithful.
Ruth and Naomi offer us a glimpse into the personal relationship that can be found between a mother and a daughter-in-law. But even more so, it offers a glimpse into the redemptive power of God who, although He is never mentioned, firmly overshadows the entire story.
